Sponsoring a room is an incredible way of supporting Calderwood House. Our focus is on helping residents return to independent living through our housing recovery programme, and the first step is provision of a safe space for residents to call their own while they find their feet. Once initial challenges are overcome the next important step is building self confidence and integration into the community. Acknowledging the link with sponsors is a positive part of this.

The rooms are en-suite and have recently been equipped with Wi-Fi and TV. Each one has a care pack, kettle, cupboard, table, comfy chair and single bed. During their time with us, residents can feel “at-home” and take pride in their space.

So what does it cost and what are key steps?

£1000 per year (which can be paid monthly). In some cases people raise more than this from fundraising and want to use it to sponsor a room. Any surplus is used to support their resident. We find out what you would like to call your suite and arrange for a plaque to go on the door. We invite you for a VIP tour of Calderwood House. You can remain anonymous to our resident if you prefer.

What next?

The resident in your room is encouraged to write and introduce themselves to you (even if they don’t have your details the process is still important and we can send it on to you). Some sponsors like to write back and interact with occasional updates. This supports our residents in regaining identity, normality and integration with community. It is entirely up to you how much you would like to be involved. We just thank you for wanting to support us and those who have hit challenging times. If you would like to take this a step further, I would love to get your expression of interest. Just drop an email via the form below and I will be in touch with you to have a chat.
