We are really proud to be partnering with St Bees Village School on Bright Stars 2021 – the innovative programme from Centre for Leadership Performance to encourage entrepreneurial spirit in our future leaders at primary school. This year, after the challenging time of Covid-19 the emphasis is on making a difference in the community. We are so proud that Year 6 are creating great ways to promote and sell our coffee which is now also available online.

Today our Year 6 Bright Stars led orienteering groups in school. Here’s what they shared

Bright Stars St Bees Village School Orienteering Calderwood House Cumbria (2)“Today we held a non-uniform day and had a different orienteering challenge for each class in return for a £1 donation to our charity Calderwood House. We also had a short assembly explaining what we are doing and showed everyone the pop video that we had made to make sure they got the message. It was a wonderful day and we are really proud to have set off our fund raising so well. We are also exhausted; now we know how tiring it is to run after small children all day!”

What an exciting day – we are so grateful for all that Bright Stars are doing to support Calderwood House!

Watch this amazing video made by Isla, Talia and Allicia. As well as their wonderful singing it gives a lot of very useful information about homelessness and also encourages you to explore our website and buy our coffee which helps us keep the doors open to help more people.! You can read about their progress here (scroll down to St Bees Village School).

AND if you would like to help us all make a difference and do well in the competition please buy a bag of coffee here and help spread the word.

We look forward to seeing parents at the Fun Fiesta event. We’ll be sharing more information to support our wonderful year 6 partners.
